Facing the Contradiction in Article Marketing

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010

Putting it in the most direct way possible, we put a lot of effort into article marketing in hopes of achieving one simple objective: Get more traffic!

Our syndicated article help us in this way in two potential ways.  First, readers might click the links contextually embedded within our articles or within the resource box at the article’s end, and/or, alternatively, the major search engines can notice our article link and give greater important to that landing page on our site.  This latter option leads to more traffic, eventually, by sending us visitors who have found our page in the search engine results.

Trying to maximize our results from those two methods causes a problem.  The pages that we want to optimize in the search engines may not be the same pages to which we would ideally send our article readers.  Let me explain this problem in a little more detail.

Often we pay the most SEO attention to pages that generate revenue directly.  With those pages, we try to reach search engine users who are already in a mindset to buy.

Our distributed article readers are not yet in they buying frame; instead they are usually at a stage of beginning information gathering.  That’s why they came to our article rather than going directly to a store or service provider.

Now, hang onto those two competing states of mind for a moment, while we consider how we construct pages on a business website.  A basic marketing principle of good website design for a business is that any given page should be directed toward moving the visitor to one and only one action.  That action might be buying or signing up to receive additional information.  So, if we obey the marketing rule to the letter, we can’t possibly optimize the most prized pages on the site and simultaneously satisfy the human reader–can we?

That is the seemingly unwinnable choice that faces us.  Should we direct our article marketing strategy on SEO or on sending our readers to a page that will give them what they actually want at this stage?  Should we abide by the simple, common sense marketing rule, or should we magically try to successfully incorporate two disparate objectives within this single site of the page?

We must consider these options carefully in both our article syndication decisions and our copywriting decisions within the website itself.

Article Marketing Plan: How Do I Create One?

Monday, February 15th, 2010

Today’s tip to earn money online:

Article Video Robot: Turn your articles into video for just 0.97 cents!

Key Steps To your website traffic future

If you are interested in getting free search engine website traffic than you need to take a look at article marketing. Article marketing can be a very rewarding website traffic generator but you need to have a article marketing plan in place to be successful. Your plan must include a set number of articles to publish per month. You must follow through and stick to your guns and make sure you publish the number articles you have set in your plan for each month.

My article marketing plan calls for to write and submit 1 article per week for my fishing site, now some weeks I write more, but never less than 1 per week. One article may not sound like a lot but you are building links with these articles that will last a lifetime. Also quality and respectability are strong factors when writing articles. If you don’t have a goal to recognized as a expert in your selected “niche” then don’t bother with article marketing.

Also article marketing is not a quick hit marketing technique that will get you 1000’s of hits to your website. Your traffic will grow gradually over time. But I can guarantee this traffic will be quality targeted traffic. I have been using article marketing for about two years now and my sales have doubled.

Now let’s get to the meat of my article and look at key steps that are needed to make your article marketing efforts successful.

#1 Like I said in my opening paragraphs above you need to identify your “niche” market to be successful with your efforts. The more specific you can be with your article marketing plan the more success you will have. You will build your whole plan based on what you choose in this step, that is why I have Identified it as #1.

#2 Create a keyword , keyword phrase list of at least 50 keyword phrases. The more specific you can be with your phrases the more website traffic you will generate to your website. {I do not recommend you start out targeting single keywords, select keyword phrases about your niche that are two and three words in length. Concentrate on using keyword phrases that are two and three words in length.} To be honest with you I have never done very well with single keywords in my articles. It has been my experience that single keywords do not score high for me on the search engines. If you have a low advertising budget, like most of us, I would like to suggest an excellent free keyword phrase generator that is offered by Google adwords. This service is free and you do not need to deposit any money. Just enter a single keyword that is specific to your niche and the Adwords system will generate a keyword phrase list of two, three and more words. Concentrate on using the two and three word phrases for your article marketing efforts.

#3 Now you are ready to start writing articles! What I do in my writing is just start writing what comes to mind that is pertinent to the niche I have selected. If you have to do any research do it before you start writing. This is also an excellent way to help with your articles structure. I typically will focus on using three different phrase for each article. As a rule of thumb I try to write articles that concentrate on three keyword phrases. Each new article I write concentrates on 3 new keyword phrases or a variation of existing ones I have used. When you are writing your articles make sure that you do not repeat your keyword phrase but every 100 words. For example, if I were going to write an article that included “crappie fishing” in my first paragraph , then I could not repeat this phrase for 100 words. There are some twists you could use like mixing it up and instead of using “crappie fishing you could use “crappie angling” Its up to you. Just don’t repeat the same phrase in a 100 word count, the search engines penalize you for doing so and your article will not score well. Remember concentrate on the quality of your article when inserting keyword phrase. It’s important that you get the attention of the reader.

#4 Your next and final step is creating and developing a good article directory list to submit your articles too. All article directories are not created equal so I suggest you use the following simple steps list the sites you want to submit to in a priority by Google ranking sequence. First thing you need to do is go to Google and type in “article directory” in the search box. The results will give you 1000’nds of sites to use in your list development. I Do suggest two very important article sites that are worth mentioning that you should put at the top of your list, and they are ezinearticles.com and Searchwarp.com. Now to prioritize these sites for my list, I use a free website ranking tool that works great for this application. Just go to Google and do a search using the keyword phrase “Google website ranking tools” this should bring up a list of sites that offer this tool. Or you can contact me and I send you the link to the tool I use. Concentrate your list on rankings of “6”,”5”,”4”,”3” . Article directories with these rankings will get you the most website traffic.

Now your ready to start article marketing! Good Luck In your efforts, Sincerely Mark Fleagle.

How to Make These Resources for Affiliate Marketer’s Pay For Their Costs

Monday, February 8th, 2010

Today’s tip to earn money online:

Whether you have been a successful affiliate marketer for a long time or entirely new to affiliate marketing, anything that will increase your traffic and income is good.  I recommend two resources that will meet those objectives, and, if used correctly, they should do far more than cover your costs for them.

Matt Callen’s MyArticleNetwork is a membership service with the primary function of distributing articles directly to niche websites and blogs.  From the member network of more than 10,000 sites, you may set a limit on how many of your individually spun articles are syndicated.  It is an exceptionally valuable tool for those of us who use article marketing extensively.

The new version of Affiliate Classroom, the well respected educational resource developed by Anik Singal for affiliate marketers looking to learn to take their business to new levels has been revamped and will soon be released anew.  The results of the members of the first version are astounding.  Those members report business increases ranging from 11% to 40%.  Most of us would be happy even to find ourselves at even the low end of those results.  Furthermore, three quarters of the members of the older version reported that they needed no other affiliate marketing resource for assistance or education.  Just think about all the savings in that one statistic.

Both of these programs offer affiliate programs.  I neither instance can you use your own affiliate link for your own purchase of the product.  Indeed, in the case of the article distribution service, you must become a member before you qualify for the affiliate program.  Both offer two tier systems, encouraging all of us to seek high quality traffic of affiliate marketers who will also be good spokespeople for the membership products.  And the fact that buyers will not be able to substitute their own links for that of our own links makes these affiliate programs especially attractive.

I’ve written an overview of MyArticleNetwork, in a different article.  Here I want to share with you one of the techniques that I employ to make sure that my small membership fee doesn’t have to be covered from other revenue sources.

Not long ago I wrote a review of two products for which I am an affiliate.  I prepared that article for the built-in spinner and entered it into the system.  While I usually drive traffic (and SEO links) to my own sites, in that article I used direct affiliate links.  That article is very early in its paced distribution cycle and the earnings that it has generated have already covered my membership fee.  It still will be published on 200% more websites.  Plus, those articles will be out there for a long time, reaching new readers.  There is no way to estimate how much that single spun article that I wrote just a few days ago will eventually earn me.

These two memberships will become self-sustaining resources that will continue to reap benefits into the foreseeable future.
